This mystery case deal is for 6 bottles (of the same wine) of a 2024 French Chenin Blanc from the cool-climate Haute Vallée de l'Aude region in southern France.
This is a dry, crisp, medium bodied French white wine made from 100% Chenin Blanc, which is from hand-harvested grapes, that were fermented in stainless steel tank to preserve aromatic qualities and then aged on fine yeast lees for a year to promote texture and mouthfeel.
Production Notes:
"The Haute Vallée de L’Aude benefis from a warm climate combined with high altitude, which results in wines with both concentrated fruit and refreshing acidity. These vineyards are located on the cooler slopes of the Pyrenees foothills on beds of limestone and clay. The Chenin Blanc is one of the last varieties to be picked, giving plenty of time for full, elegant ripeness to be achieved, while maintaining a refreshing crispness and crunch. After being hand-picked, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel with a substantial French oak touch at the end, to add a toasty, suave finish to complement the
vigorous fruit. The wine is grown and vinified sustainably, achieving HVE3 certification."
Vegan friendly.
Professional Reviews:
"Pale lemon in colour. Aromas of quince, ripe pear and yellow apple mingle with white blossom, honey, lemon curd and a subtle lanolin complexity characteristic of quality Chenin Blanc. The palate is vibrant and textured, combining crisp citrus acidity with flavours of baked apple, stonefruit and fresh melon. A gentle waxy texture adds weight without sacrificing freshness, finishing long with hints of citrus peel and wet stone."
"Lovely aromas of peach, citrus, brioche, hazelnut and a luscious finish"
