FAQ

About Everyday Wine

Everyday Wine is an independently owned wine store that focuses on organic, biodynamic and natural wines from around the world.

We opened Everyday Wine in 2019 with a small store on Cuba Street in Wellington, New Zealand.

A couple years later we opened a store on Karangahape Road in Auckland.

Today, we operate online-only from our warehouse in Auckland, New Zealand along with a warehouse in Sydney, Australia too.

Everyday Wine is owned by Dan Gillett (Ngati Toa).

Dan has worked in the wine industry since a teenager, working in vineyards and wineries during his school holidays. He has worked in the hospitality industry since 2011 having owned several restaurants, bars and cafés. In 2015 he started wine import business Wine Diamonds and by 2019 he started Everyday Wine as a retail outlet for organic and natural wines.

These days Dan and his companies import, distribute, produce, retail and export wines from New Zealand, Australia, France, Italy and Spain. Dan's wines can be found in 25+ countries.

Wine is very much a family affair. Dan's wife Emma is a winemaker (see Emma Marris wines), Dan's sister Lauren is too (see Lauren Langfield wines), and Dan's father Brian is our Accountant.

Our offices are at 12 Gundry Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010, New Zealand.

We run our New Zealand and Australian operation from here.

We are open:
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
Saturday - Sunday, 12pm - 3pm

About Case Deals

We get this question a lot!

We work directly with growers, removing any extra profit margins typically associated with makers, importers, distributors, etc, and we work in large volumes, improving the efficiencies and costs involved (for context, we import more Prosecco than any other brand in New Zealand)

Yes, absolutely. We have various mixed cases available or you can purchase by the single bottle.

The lucky dip includes three white wines, one rosé and two red wines.

We offer a Lucky Dip Case of 12 bottles for $100, which offers you two bottles of each wine; one to have now, one to share or save for later.

We also offer a Premium Lucky Dip for $200, which has a much wider range of more premium wines included.

With both Lucky Dip cases, you can tell us your likes, dislikes and special requests, and we'll do our best to accommodate this in our selection!

It's nice and simple really, pick 6 bottles of one wine and 6 bottles of another. The price will vary depending on what you choose.

No, not at all. Everything we sell here is a one-time purchase. (At present we do not offer subsriptions)

Wines

No, not all of our wines are organic (but most are).

Some of the growers we work with prefer to use occasional synthetic herbicides, pesticides or fungicides instead of excessive applications of less effective organic treatments. It can be a heated debate and there are pros and cons to both sides of the coin.

For 100% clarity and transparency on this, you will see "Accreditations" on each product page:
Sustainable (not organic)
Organic, not certified
Organic, certified
Biodynamic, certified

YES! All of our wines are vegan.

Normally, a case is 12 bottles.

Unless otherwise very clearly marked, all our wines come in 750ml bottles.

The only exceptions to this are:
375mL - Sweet wines such as Solaire Botrytis Petit Manseng
1500mL - Magnums
3000mL - Double Magnums

No, but Dan Gillett, owner of Everyday Wine also owns and runs several wine labels, so there is a lot of crossover and a number of wines that are made exclusively for Everyday Wine customers! This is how we deliver so much value.

Yes, we do. We work directly with our suppliers to offer you custom label wines. Please contact us to discuss.

(Please note the minimum economical quantity for this is 60-240 bottles depending on the request).

Awesome! Please contact us or fill out our new wine submission form:

Returns

Sorry, but we don't accept returns on bottles of wine that have already been opened.

If you have bought a case and don't like it (and don't want to drink the rest), contact us, and we will happily arrange a swap. You may need to cover the additional freight.

No worries, this happens! If the wine you want to swap back is still stocked by us, we're happy to accomodate this. Please contact us.

If your wine is corked or faulty, please keep the remaining wine in the bottle (and the cork, if corked), and contact us to arrange a return and replacement.

Reviews

Yes, they are. The review system will send you a review request 7 days after purchase, and after you post you review your name will show as James S. (if your name is James Smith, for example)

The system automatically publishes the reviews after 3 business days. Please note it does automatically exclude reviews with swear words, racism or abuse.

No, to review you need to have purchased the wine from us. 7 days after purchase you will be emailed a link to provide a review. This ensures reviews are authentic.
