The 2019 vintage Merlot from Elephant Hill is produced with fruit soured from two vineyards in Hawke's Bay - The 'Earth' Vineyard in Bridge Pa Triangle, which contributes a juicy, rich quality to the wine - and the 'Stone' Vineyard in Gimblett Gravels, which provides concentration and structure. Together, is a Merlot with richness, finesse and tension.
Hand harvested, macerated for 3-4 weeks, gently pressed and then matured in French oak barrels for 15 months (20% aged in new French oak barrels, balance in seasoned oak and tank)
