Next up in the La Famille range is the 2023 Bourgogne Blanc Chardonnay from Burgundy, France.

This wine has all the classic hallmark traits of classic white Burgundy. It presents as pale gold in colour with aromas of ripe pear, white peach and citrus. The palate is concentrated, juicy and round, with citrus and stone fruits and a touch of creaminess. The oak is well-integrated in both aroma and flavour. A crisp, fine line of acidity with a clean, mineral finish.

"Light gold. Restrained aromas of green apple, celery, flint and oyster-shell minerality lead to rather more accessible flavours on the palate with the addition of white peach, vanilla pod and a hint of salted caramel. Mid-weight and showing a touch of spicy oxidative development already for such a young wine, this is instantly approachable and has fairly good concentration mid-palate before fading to expose a dry, chalky finish. Nine of the cheap Chardonnay sweetness or fruitiness, oak, nuts and rich amber like white grapes. Beautiful wine, I’ll buy another 12 bottles case
