Vintage: 2023

Vineyard Location: Langhorne Creek, South Australia

Winemaking: Fruit for this wine was hand harvested, destemmed, wild fermented, matured in aged French oak barrels for two years prior to being bottled. 

Tasting Notes: 

Appearance: Deep garnet with a fine, persistent bead and a vibrant crimson mousse.

Aroma: Intense and complex, showing layers of blackberry compote, black cherry and mulberry, interwoven with dark chocolate, sweet spice, anise, and hints of toasted brioche and cedar. Subtle nuances of licorice, vanilla pod and mocha emerge with air.

Palate: Full-bodied, marrying rich dark-fruit concentration with finely integrated, creamy mousse. Flavours of blackcurrant, plum, and boysenberry unfold alongside notes of cocoa, baking spice and balsamic richness. The structure is driven by fine tannins and bright natural acidity, providing balance and length.

Finish: Long, seamless and velvety, with lingering notes of dark berries, spice and savoury complexity, underpinned by fine, chalky tannins and refreshing lift.
