Another excellent Gamay from Hawke's Bay producer Amoise, AKA Amy Farnsworth.
Continuing to hone her own take on the iconic grape, the 2023 vintage is a decidedly spicier affair than the 2022. White and black pepper, raspberries, cassis and a hint of liquorice. The finish is juicy with soft, round tannins.
Reflecting its distinctive terroir (Two Terraces, Hawkes Bay), along with Amy's ongoing use of carbonic maceration and aging in her own amphorae, this possibly is her most intriguing wine yet!
Delicious with a slight chill, pair with sharp cheese, charcoal-grilled meat or chocolate-based desserts!
