A rare treat this one. In its third vintage now, Sundial is a field blend of organic Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, from a small block in Rapaura, Marlborough.

The grapes are hand-harvested and combined in small vessels to begin a natural ferment amongst the vines - a term winemaker Jordan Hogg playfully calls vinsitu.

Historically, Sundial has been the first of the three Atipico wines to sell out, and we can see why.

An incredibly smart white blend, with delicate florals and baked apples from the pinot gris complimenting the fleshy stonefruit and citrus from the blanc. Underpinned by a delightful hint of umami, racy acidity and long, stony finish. This is a super-versatile wine, excellent on its own, but with plenty of personality to match seafood or poultry for example.

In Jordan's words: "A tongue-in-cheek Alsace meets chablis" - bang on!
