A very special release here from Nelson's Brood Fermentation - the 2021 vintage of their smash-hit 'Playflight' orange Pinot Gris.
Stylistically, this is quite a different wine compared to their (now sold out) 2022 Playflight. Although the same Upper Moutere Pinot Gris fruit, this is more akin to the structural and complex skin contact wines of Friuli or Kahketi.
With extended skin contact time, long aging in barrel on fine lees, and an extra year to develop in bottle, this is a rare treat of New Zealand natural winemaking.
Unfined and unfiltered. Vegan.
