From Calabria, the ‘toe’ of the southern Italian boot, meet the Gaglioppo grape, a near-forgotten indigenous variety, here grown organically by the Scala family.
Ripe and crunchy, this is all fresh black plum, cranberry and cassis, dried woody herbs, leather, liquorice and seaspray at the finish. It’s dry, approachable and very moreish. Would suit a chill too.
100% Gaglioppo, hand-picked and destemmed, fermented and aged in concrete for 2 years before release.
