Salamadre Orange is a delicious orange wine made from white Southern Rhône variety Grenache Gris. Incredible colour from just 10 days on skins. This wine has floral notes with peach, summerfruits and just a hint of grip on the palate too. No adverse funk, just good drinking!
The Salamandre wines are grown and made by Domaine du Château Saint-Cyrgues. Located in Saint Gilles, which borders the Camargue region (think wild white ponies and fresh French salt) at the mouth of the Rhône River, Château Saint-Cyrgues was built on the ruins of the Church of Saint-Cirice de Marge in 1654. This abbey had at one time been part of the Saint Cyrgues priory, where cultivation of vine was part of the monks’ daily rituals, as was drinking Vin Jaune. Today, the Domaine produces excellent, forward-thinking wines that honour their region and history.
