A first for Jannine Rickards' Huntress label - Chardonnay!
Fruit was sourced from the Osawa vineyard's Mangatahi terraces, whole bunch pressed, and fermented in seasoned french oak, the wine underwent partial malo before coarse filtration and addition of minimal sulphites for stability.
The resulting wine is a hit - citrus driven, with a fresh, floral lift, while retaining some richness and texture from lees work.
In the glass, the wine is both elegant and energetic with lemon flesh and zest, and buttery brioche on the finish.
This is a wine begging for some fresh crayfish!
Unfined and unfiltered. Vegan.
