Zweigelt is a cross between St Laurent and Blaufrankisch, producing wine that is in Hans Herzog's words, "Sweet and savoury like a ‘Black Forest Gateau’ in a bottle".
Prominent cherry and plum, dark purple dried fruits, hints of chocolate, spicy black pepper and tobacco, with a long, herb-and-liquorice finish.
Like all of Hans Herzog's wines, it's organically grown, handpicked, and made with minimal intervention.
Very accessible in the glass now, but plenty of aging potential too!
