A stunning white Burgundy - rich, concentrated, lovely deep citrus notes, almonds, green fruit and amazing freshness.
Sylvain Bzikot makes wines with real personality. The 13.2-hectare estate was originally created by his grandparents at the beginning of the 1940s. They arrived (as Polish immigrants) in Meursault to work in the vineyards as their friends and relations did before them. After a few years working in the fields, they began as “metayer fermier” (vignerons on shared land) and subsequently bought a few tiny parcels of land which they planted progressively. At the time farming was polycultural; not only vines but also cereal and cattle. Now that his parents have retired Sylvain is totally in charge of vineyard operations and has been developing estate bottling (started twenty years ago). Vineyard work is traditional with an emphasis on 164roc raisonnée. All the grapes for the village wines are handpicked, then a pneumatic press is used to aid soft extraction and the wines are clarified in thermoregulated tanks.
