'Big Little Things' is Halcyon Days' first foray into Chenin Blanc - and what a result!

With fruit sourced from organic-certified Two Terraces, the wine is a smart blend of two different Chenin clones, and two different processes. One is whole bunch pressed direct to tank for wild ferment then aged on lees; this ferment was linear and austere with real drive. The other, with a riper, more honeyed note was destemmed and fermented on skins for 7 days. The two batches were combined for natural malolactic fermentation and aged on lees till bottling.

The result is textural, electric, and very refreshing. Evolving in the glass; there's intensity and structure from the skin contact, with ripe, yellow peach and lemon zest on the palate, and subtle notes of nectar and spice on the finish. Delicious.
