Pétillant Naturel, or Pet Nat for short, is a traditional style of bottle-fermented sparkling wine. By not undergoing a second fermentation in the bottle like Champagne does, the wine is packed with light, fresh and fruity flavours and aromas. Some pét nats are cloudy, retaining all the original yeast lees, while others aren't, from being disgorged (nb: this one is not cloudy). Most pet nats are dry too (as is this one). If you enjoy fruit flavour, natural acidity and fresher styles of sparkling like Prosecco give Pet Nat a try!

Terroir Project ("Tear-wah Pro-ject") is a new project of single-vineyard wines showcasing unique terroirs from around New Zealand and Australia.
